In a spontaneous movement on Thursday, inspired by students and religious gatherings, people of Iran’s northwestern city of Tabriz demonstrated outside Azerbaijan's consulate in the city to denounce the use of violence against Shias in the Azeri city of Nardaran.
They called for an end to the violent behavior against Shia Muslims around the world.
A university professor from Tabriz University addressed the gathering at the end and asserted that there are plots to divide Muslims in the region in a bid to stir tensions in the Middle East for the interests of the Israeli regime and the US.
The lecturer also referred to Islamic Awakening Movement in the region and added that the costs of the Muslims uprising against injustice and exploitation have pushed the foes to oppress any Muslim community in the region.
